Team Manager of Elite Athletics, Idowu Adebayo has given insights into their preparation for their Matchday Two encounter against Vision FA as well as the team's aspirations for the season.
When asked about their 3-1 victory over Wisdom FA on the opening day of the season, Adebayo attributed it to meticulous preparation and some moments of sheer brilliance on the field. He emphasized that their success was a result of the team's hard work and the players' quick and effective decision-making.
"In summary," he said, "when preparation meets luck, it definitely results in 3 perfect points in football."
Looking ahead to their upcoming clash against Vision FA, Adebayo acknowledged that it would be a different challenge. Vision FA are yet to play a match in the season, making it difficult for Elite Athletics to anticipate their tactics. Adebayo emphasized the need for caution, especially in ball possession, as Vision FA is a renowned name in grassroots football due to their years of experience.
"The upcoming match against Vision has to be handled with great caution," Adebayo stated. "But we are confident in attaining the maximum 3 points against them as that is our primary goal."
Adebayo also revealed that Elite Athletics had set ambitious yet realistic objectives for the season. Their aim is to top the league table during the abridged format, which represents the first phase of the season, and ultimately lift the league title at the final stage of the Super Four. He expressed confidence in his team's preparedness to achieve these targets and highlighted their commitment to success.
